Before we rush into planning next summer, let's take a minute to look at three places where we need to give credit to Summer 2016.

1) We played a role in graduation!

Summer courses provide a path to graduation. Over 880 students finished coursework and applied for graduation in Summer 2016.

Deatrice Williams"For me, summer courses are essential to completing my graduate degree in a timely manner. These courses allow me to stay focused on the timetable which my advisor and I have planned.

The course materials are dense within a short period of time, however, my confidence is boosted by my ability to accept and meet the challenges of summer courses."

2) We welcomed visitors!

Nearly 800 students enrolled as a visiting student in summer 2016; that’s up over 40% in just two summers!

The top three home institutions of our visiting students were UNC Chapel Hill, NC State and Tennessee Tech University.

“This summer I decided to take UNC Charlotte summer courses as a visiting student to ultimately get ahead in my course curriculum for my degree while also being able to work my summer job. I enrolled in both summer one and summer two sessions. I work 40 hours a week therefore I was concerned about the strong commitment it would take to juggle work and academics. UNC Charlotte was the only school that provided Physics I and II in such an easy route so I knew I would have to make it work. My goals upon completing the courses at UNC Charlotte will assist me in my regular course schedule by decreasing my coursework load in the fall semester, getting ahead in my curriculum requirements and by also teaching me time management skills because I have such a busy schedule. From applying to be a visiting student to waiting on final grades UNC Charlotte has been a wonderful experience.”

3) We set record enrollment numbers!

We added over 2,000 summer enrollments over last summer. Summer 2016 saw 21,508 total enrolled students in over 1291 summer sections.

Planning for Summer 2017 starts now and we need your help to make summer a success.

Stay on Course is the theme for Summer 2017!
